Altiras Launches New Company to Focus on Research and Development Investment in Chemical Beneficial Use
Wednesday, March 13, 2013
Houston TX – Altiras Industrial Services announced today that it’s launching a new operating company, Altiras Recovery. The new company will focus on secondary chemicals and fuels described as co-products, by-produced, surplus, off-specification materials, and chemicals and fuels previously used in another process that have high intrinsic value but no realizable market value.
“Many chemicals and fuels have tremendous value if they can be converted into usable products, even if they cannot be easily marketed as they currently exist. The business of Altiras Recovery is to find methods and chemistries needed to convert secondary materials of high intrinsic value into products that will yield real market value.” explained Todd Pencarinha, President of Altiras Recovery.
The new company will continue existing research related to the recovery of asphalt and fuel oil from a major source in Oklahoma. “The company has also identified several additional opportunities for such R&D efforts to create widely used commercial products.” said Steven Marshall, Chief Executive Officer of Altiras Industrial Services. Mr. Pencarinha will manage the day-to-day business of Altiras Recovery with Mark Myers, who was promoted to a new position as R&D Manager.
