Altiras Recovery LLC Develops Process to Treat and Deodorize Mercaptan Laden Light Fuel
Wednesday, January 13, 2016
Houston TX – Altiras Recovery, a wholly owned subsidiary of Altiras Holdings, announced today that its developed a proprietary treatment process to deodorize mercaptan laden light fuel products.
“Mercaptans have a very low odor threshold meaning odor can still be detected in concentrations as low as one part per billion. Eliminating the odor requires elimination of all the mercaptans, which we’ve successfully completed.” said Todd Pencarinha, President of Altiras Recovery. Altiras Recovery’s proprietary process was developed by its R&D Manager, Mark Myers, to meet a need of a struggling supplier with a very odorous light fuel blend stock who has been disposing of the product.
“We simply believed we could find a solution and, surprisingly, it didn’t take long. After only a few weeks of research and development to identify a mechanism we believed in, we were able to decisively prove it in the lab.” said Mr. Pencarinha.
Altiras Recovery plans to work with the supplier to develop a mutually beneficial arrangement to implement the new technology.
