Formic Acid Recycling, Beneficial Reuse, & Disposal Services
Altiras Chemicals specializes in the beneficial reuse and recycling of many chemicals, including formic acid. We can often reuse formic acid “as-is”, without processing. Generally, if the formic acid product has a low color and purity of over 85%, there is a good chance we can reuse the product as-is. However, when products have lower purity, higher color, or an odor that is inconsistent with typical formic acid, we can offer recycling as an option through our relationship with Chemaris Acetyls. We can return the recovered product to the producer or can buy the formic acid, process it, and sell it to our customer base. Please note that we prefer to handle formic acid in full, bulk truckload, or rail tank car quantities for recycling. Consistent products only consider tote quantities.
