Formic Acid Recycling, Beneficial Reuse, & Disposal Services
Altiras Chemicals specializes in the beneficial reuse and recycling of formic acid. Formic acid is widely used in industries such as leather tanning, textile processing, and agriculture. By reusing or recycling this chemical, we help businesses lower their environmental footprint while ensuring a cost-effective supply of formic acid for their operational needs.
In many cases, we can reuse formic acid “as-is”, without any processing. If the formic acid has a low color and a purity level of over 85%, it is typically suitable for reuse without further treatment. This allows businesses to reduce the costs and energy associated with sourcing new chemicals.
However, if the formic acid has lower purity, higher color, or an inconsistent odor, we offer recycling services. Altiras partners with Chemaris Acetyls to process and restore the quality of the formic acid. We can return the recovered product to the original producer or purchase it for further processing. Once processed, we sell the formic acid to our customer base. This approach supports a circular economy by minimizing waste and promoting the reuse of valuable chemicals.
Whether you need a one-time solution for off-spec formic acid or ongoing recycling services, Altiras provides customized options to meet your goals.
