Other Alcohols

Altiras offers several different alcohols as alternatives to prime alcohols. These include methanol, isopropanol, n-butanol, isobutanol, and t-butyl alcohols. These products are great alternatives to prime industrial alcohols. For information on ethanol products, please click here. The following alcohols are currently available.

Isopropanol Products

Wet Isopropanol, 50-60% (Prod #10062)- this product is 50-60% isopropanol with the balance being primarily water. The product contains only a low content (<650 ppm) of other organic materials. The color specification is <20 APHA and the product can be used in many of the same applications as diluted isopropanol. The specification is below.

Wet Isopropanol, 90%, High Color (Prod #09235)- this product is nominally 90% isopropanol with the balance being primarily water. The product contains up to 2% other solvents. This product has a high color, thus it is best used in application where color is less important, such as form release or as an initial solvent to high color alcohol soluble materials. The specification is below.

Wet Isopropanol, 70%, High Color (Prod #00481)- this product is nominally 70% isopropanol with the balance being primarily water. The product contains up to 3% other solvents. This product has a high color, thus it is best used in application where color is less important, such as form release or as an initial solvent to high color alcohol soluble materials. The specification is below.

t-butanol Products

t-butanol, 99% (Prod #10019) – this product is nominally 99% t-butyl alcohol with trace water and other organics. This product has an APHA color <10. The product contains up to 0.9% other solvents. This product is an excellent substitute for prime t-butanol when water does not have a major impact on the process. The specification is below.

Wet t-butanol, 89% (Prod #10007) – this product is nominally 89% t-butyl alcohol with the balance being primarily water. This product has an APHA color <10. The product contains up to 0.2% other solvents. This product is an excellent substitute for prime t-butanol when water does not have a major impact on the process. The specification is below.

Wet t-butanol, 70% (Prod #10005) – this product is nominally 70% t-butyl alcohol with the balance being primarily water. This product has an APHA color <10. The product contains up to 7.5% other solvents, including isopropanol, cyclohexane, and octane. This product is an excellent substitute for prime t-butanol when water moderate content of other solvents does not have a major impact on the process. The specification is below.
